Birth Doula

What is a Doula? 

Doula: noun - a person trained to provide emotional, physical and educational support to women during pregnancy, birth, and or postpartum.

You may find yourself asking....WHAT'S THAT EVEN MEAN? 

What that means is, as your doula I will:

• Nurture and companion you every step of the way
• Love and support you as you navigate this journey & the changes happening in your body and soul
• Guide and educate you as you explore all of your options, answering any & all of your questions, listening to all of your concerns
• Hold space for all of your feelings (there will be so many feelings)
• Provide you with resources, should you need more information about something and help you through information overload
• Give reassurance should you forget how powerful and amazing you are!

Most importantly, I will hold your hand through any twists and turns this transformative experience may throw your way. We will go through it all together.

My services begin with a complimentary, no obligation 30 minute discovery connection call via phone or zoom to see if I am the right doula for you.

Includes-

Prenatal visits:

2 to 3 in-depth 60 min consultations to get to know each other, grow our connection and deepen our relationship. We will prepare for your birth experience by discussing a detailed “plan” that reflects your priorities, preferences & outlines my role in your birth.

Phone and Email Support:
I am available to answer all of your questions and concerns by text or email throughout your pregnancy. Additionally I will check in with you after each of your appointments with your care provider or at a frequency of your preference. 

Once in Labor:

Once you think labor has begun, contact me immediately for ongoing virtual support via phone call or text until you decide you're ready for me to join you. (I can help you determine when it's time to go in, if you are not already at your chosen birth space). Once with you, you will have my undivided attention throughout your labor, birth and the first hour or two postpartum. 12 hours face to face physical support*

Postpartum Follow Up:

After your baby is born within the first 10 days postpartum we will meet one final time for reflection on your birth experience and to assess your need for any additional postpartum care. Lactation support is included in this visit. 60 min duration.

When should I hire a doula?

Immediately! I love being hired early in pregnancy so we have plenty of time to connect and develop our relationship. Bonus! You will enjoy your pregnancy more knowing you have a knowledgeable companion for the journey. Most importantly I take on a limited number of clients per month and it is best to secure your spot ASAP.
